The GATE offers two programs for ag tech start ups. Incubation is for early stage ideas from entrepreneurs, DPI research staff and partner research agencies. Acceleration support for early stage businesses is provided by GATE corporate partner SparklabsCulitv8 which is co-located at the GATE.
Start Up - Incubation Course
GATE Incubation is a unique program which supports early-stage ag-tech projects or ideas to develop and grow. The 2020 program varies between 3 to 6 months part time and takes researchers and entrepreneurs through intensive business coaching, developing prototypes and refining their value proposition. The program does not require relocation to Orange but includes intensive workshops based in Orange during the program.
The GATE Mentoring services program connects experienced professionals (mentors) with entrepreneurs to guide their journey. The program exists to guide, grow and support entrepreneurs to realise their full potential.

SparkLabs Cultiv8 is the GATE's partner in acceleration provision. Sparklabs Cutiv8 invests up to A$100,000 in all startups in exchange for an agreed equity position. Each startup gets matched with 4 to 6 mentors. Its mentors come from a range of backgrounds, some with specialised Industry experience, others with broader technology experience.
